Because Virtual Assistants are insatiably curious, we're usually among the first people to discover some really amazing tools that allow us to streamline our business processes and work with our clients more efficiently.

I'm happy to share with you some my favorite online programs. Click, browse, test drive (most for free) and enjoy them as much as I do!

  • Audio Acrobat. With Audio Acrobat, you can record audio notes, convert audio files, record telecalls and edit them inside your favorite editor. You can even publish the content on your website as an e-mail link or as a download for MP3.
     
  • Aweber. I use Aweber with several of my clients to send out their e-mail newsletter. I've found that it's one of the best solutions to ensure that my clients' e-mail broadcasts actually arrive in the e-mail inboxes of their subscribers.
     
  • Big Contacts. This Web-based contact management software allows you to organize your important contact information in a single view, easily coordinate and manage multiple calendars online, and effectively manage your sales pipeline online. Provides real-time access to information. It's a true "Mobile Office" solution for those who travel. For example, you can make Skype phone calls directly from your computer and it works with any Web enabled phone. 
     
  • Eventbrite. An online way to advertise your events, send invitations to mailing lists and monitor the activity as your registrations roll in.
     
  • GoToMyPC. If you work from a desktop and a laptop, you can really utilize this program. You can log onto your desktop from your laptop or vice versa from anywhere (as long as you have an Internet connection). You can also transfer files from one computer to the next. I use it to access my some of my clients' computers.
     
  • introLinks. The introLinks Network is the result of an ongoing effort to build a complete and concise Internet Directory consisting of local businesses and resources. Our mission is: To spur the local economy by introducing local internet users to the businesses and resources in their area.
     
  • MailChimp. A list management system with the ability to create campaigns, use segmented lists, create scheduled autoresponders, and works with Eventbrite and Survey Gizmo. MailChimp has a smoother import process than some other list management systems.
     
  • Mimeo.com. The innovator of online, on-demand document printing, binding and distribution for businesses and individuals. Mimeo.com offers paper stocks, customized tabs and slip sheets, and prints Word, PowerPoint, Quark, Excel, PDF, bound, unbound and illustrator type documents. Users can update and store documents in Mimeo's online library.
     
  • PowWeb Starting a website with PowWeb is easy and affordable. Their simple "One Plan" package offers a complete All-in-One hosting solution with plenty of disk space, bandwidth and additional features. All sites reside on their "Load Balanced Technology" Platform.
  • Smartsheet. This Web-based work management and collaboration tool enables you to track and organize work, use a template, share with collaborators, set alerts and reminders, track discussions, view change history, and create summary reports. With Smartsheet, you can also attach, share and send files.
     
  • Snagit. This "can't live without" tool enables you to grab screen shots of Web pages that you can use in documents or on your websites. Snagit makes it very easy to capture part of a screen, drop-down menus, whole Web pages (rather than just the bits you can see on the screen), images and irregular shapes. The application is very intuitive, and the basics can be learned in just a few minutes of trial and error.
     
  • TimeDriver Appointment Scheduler. This program is a personal appointment scheduler that works with Outlook and Google Calendar. It lets you offer appointments to clients by putting a schedule link in e-mail messages and on Web pages. Appointments flow into your calendar automatically.
